VICTORIA – BC Transit and its employees need your help to Stuff
the Bus with food and toys for the Mustard Seed Food Bank, 1UP the Single
Parent Resource Centre and the Sidney Lions Club.
Stuff the Bus will be held on December 15, 2012 at the Safeway parking lot
in the Tillicum Centre and again on December 16, 2012 at Safeway in Sidney.
Both days you will find a BC Transit bus and volunteers who will happily accept
your donations from 7 am to 7 pm.
Saturday’s Stuff the Bus will collect donations for 1UP and the Mustard
Seed. 1Up, the Single Parent Resource Centre, is asking for new toys for the
families they support. The Mustard Seed needs non-perishable food donations
to feed 7,000 clients a month; 1,600 of them children. Cash donations are also
greatly appreciated. The Mustard Seed is able to get $2 of food for every $1
you give, thanks to the generosity of participating retailers and suppliers.
Sunday’s Stuff the Bus will see donations go to the Sidney Lions Club
Food Bank. Plus Scotiabank will match every dollar donated, doubling your contributions!
Scotiabank employees and Lions Club members will also volunteer to help make
Stuff the Bus a success.
Media are invited to join BC Transit President and CEO Manuel Achadinha
and other community leaders on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at noon for a BBQ.
Food will be served throughout the day at both locations.
BC Transit and its employees would like to sincerely thank CAW Local 333 for
their contribution and Safeway for food donations and their ongoing support
of Stuff the Bus.
