VICTORIA – BC Transit and its employees need your help to Stuff the Bus for the Mustard Seed Food Bank and Our Place Society.
The 13th Annual Stuff the Bus will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Tillicum Mall. Over the past 13 years, nearly $140,000 has been collected in support of local charitable organizations.
Mustard Seed is looking for non-perishable food donations to feed 7,000 people a month; 1,600 of them children. Cash donations are also greatly appreciated and give The Mustard Seed the ability to purchase what is most needed at a lower cost with the support of participating supermarkets and suppliers.
In October, Our Place Society served over 58,000 meals to Greater Victoria’s most vulnerable citizens. It has also recently extended its hours into the evening, seven days per week, to better meet the needs of the region’s working poor, impoverished elderly, mentally and physically challenged, addicted and the homeless. Along with cash donations, Our Place needs gently used blankets, socks and clothing.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Save on Foods, hot dogs and pop will be served to people who make a donation, throughout the Stuff the Bus event.
BC Transit and its employees would like to thank our media sponsors – the Ocean 98.5 and 103.1 JACK FM.
