Holiday events happening throughout the province with BC Transit

GLOBAL– This year has been an extremely challenging year for so many British Columbians. Now more than ever is the time to come together and give back to lift the spirits of family, friends and community in the upcoming weeks. Across the province in a number of transit systems there will be events to safely bring people together to spread some holiday cheer. Please see the details of the events listed below.
Cranbrook – Help the city of Cranbrook and NextGen Stuff the Bus with non-perishable food and monetary donations. All donations will benefit the Cranbrook Food Bank. The Cranbrook Food Bank appreciates all non-perishable donations and is focusing on items like school snacks, such as fruit cups, packaged cheese and crackers, trail mix, and juice boxes. Other pantry essentials like sugar, flour, rice, oatmeal, and instant coffee is also appreciated.

Kamloops – Help the City of Kamloops Stuff the Bus by dropping off non-perishable food donations or monetary donations benefit the Kamloops Food Bank.

10 am to 4 pm
Kelowna – The 19th Annual Santa Bus event is back this year! Support BC Transit, First Canada, and our regional partners* as they collect food toys and funds for the Salvation Army’s Assistance Program. The red-nosed bus will be making its way through town, starting Sunday, December 5 to Saturday, December 11. Click here to find out when and where the 19th Annual Santa Bus will be near you.
The season for giving is just around the corner and with it comes the annual Stuff a Bus event, where locals can help out those in need in the Central Okanagan. Join Virgin Radio, MOVE 101.5 and AM 1150, with support from BC Transit and its regional partners*, in making the holiday season a little bit brighter for others. Come by and drop off your food and cash donations at these Stuff a Bus events:
Friday, December 3
Kelowna Superstore at 2280 Baron Road and
Westside Superstore at 3020 Louie Drive

All donations will go to benefitting the Central Okanagan Food Bank and the West Kelowna Food Bank.

Port Alberni – Join our partners in Port Alberni for a fun filled day to Stuff the Bus for the Salvation Army. Please bring your non-perishable food items to show your support. The local Lions will be serving up a delicious BBQ by donation.

9 am to 5 pm (There will be an outdoor Zoomba class from 9:30 to 10:30 am)
Powell River – Leave your car at home and take transit for only 25 cents! On December 17 customers can ride the bus for 25 centson rural transit, and 25 cents on fixed-route transit on both December 17 and 18.
Prince George – The city is encouraging passengers to ride the bus by donation instead of paying the regular cash fare with Food for Fare in Prince George. All buses will have collection boxes which riders can put items in from December 8 to December 10.
Squamish – The District of Squamish, Squamish Transit and BC Transit are here to help you get into the holiday spirit with the traditional lights tour on Sunday, December 19.from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. BC Transit buses will pick up passengers at 5:30 p.m. from Shannon Falls Retirement Home, The Manors, The Cedars and Eagle Grove lobby to tour some of the beautiful light displays in town. Hot chocolate and donuts will be provided by the Squamish Transit Operators.
Trail – Help NextGen Transit in Trail to fill a bus with non-perishable food items! All donations from this Stuff the Bus event will benefit the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Please be reminded that in accordance with the Provincial Health Officer masks are required on all BC Transit Buses. While BC Transit wanted the highlight upcoming holiday events, the organization’s thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by the devastating flooding throughout the province. BC Transit will continue to support our communities with emergency assistance while maintaining reliable service for our customers.
