Help make the holidays brighter with Food for Fare

PRINCE GEORGE – BC Transit and the City of Prince George are announcing the return of Food for Fare in the Prince George Transit System.

Food for Fare allows customers to ride the bus for free in exchange for any non-perishable food donation made when boarding the bus. Donations from Food for Fare will go to the Salvation Army Food Bank. The event runs from December 16 until December 18, 2020 and is valid on all scheduled routes.

BC Transit and the City of Prince George are pleased to be able to help support our community, especially given the impact of COVID-19 this year. Please be advised of BC Transit safety protocols including wearing a face covering and practicing physical distancing. We will update you if conditions change due to public health orders.

Following BC Transit’s COVID-19 safety protocols, additional safety measures are being taken for the Food for Fare event. We remind everyone who is making a donation that masks are mandatory on-board the bus.

The safety plan measures for the event include:

  • Donations being dropped off on the bus in the designated area
  • Practicing physical distancing by remaining six-feet apart
