BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission are seeking public feedback on the future of transit in the West Shore, the Peninsula and Sooke with a survey starting today, April 22, 2025. The survey will remain open until May 2, 2025.
Changes are being proposed for the following routes:
- Route 39 Westhills/Interurban/Royal Oak/UVic
- Route 65 Sooke/Downtown via Westhills
- Route 81 Brentwood/Saanichton/Sidney/Swartz Bay
- Route 82 Sidney/Saanichton via Stautw
- Route 87 Saanichton/Sidney via Dean Park
If approved, these changes would go into effect in the fall or winter of 2025/2026, as part of regular service changes.

There will be a chance for you to share your opinion in-person at the following locations:
- April 26 – Sooke Earth Day Celebration, alongside the Sooke Country Market at Otter Point Road and Rhodonite, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. (nearby Municipal Hall, 2205 Otter Point Road)
- April 29 – Langford Transit Exchange, Station Road, Langford, 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
- April 29 – UVic Exchange, 3757 Finnerty Road, 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
- April 29 – Mary Winspear Centre, 2243 Beacon Avenue, Sidney, 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
