Transit System: Cowichan Valley
Cowichan Valley – At BC Transit, we understand how important it is to live and work in healthy communities. As such, we have partnered with the Cowichan Valley Regional District to make your monthly pass go farther.
The Cowichan Valley Regional District, the Municipality of North Cowichan and the Town of Ladysmith are partnering on a new Swim or Skate campaign effective until March 31, 2017. This campaign entitles customers at participating recreation facilities to get one free swim or skate admission per month from September 2016 to March 2017 when presenting the previous month’s Cowichan Valley Transit bus pass to customer service attendants. Participating locations include: Cowichan Aquatic Centre, Cowichan Lake Sports Arena, Frank Jameson Community Centre, Fuller Lake Arena, Island Savings Centre and Kerry Park Recreation Centre.
“We’re pleased to partner with local governments in the Cowichan Valley to promote active transportation and fitness,” said Manuel Achadinha, BC Transit Chief Executive Officer and President. “Taking advantage of recreational facilities in the Cowichan Valley by using a previous months pass shows our commitment to improving the value for customers.”
The pass-for-entry program is an example of BC Transit and local partners working together to build healthier communities.
“Buying monthly transit passes is already a great option to save money, and now it provides an opportunity to stay active,” said CVRD Chair Jon Lefebure. “It also reinforces the Hop on Board and Play Cowichan campaign that recreation and transit have partnered on across our region”,
While BC Transit always encourages getting to recreation centres with socially and environmentally wise transportation choices, the “Swim or Skate” promotion makes it easier than ever before.
