Future of transit in Victoria

BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission are seeking feedback from the public on transit in the Gorge-Burnside-Tillicum-Esquimalt areas, starting today, October 30 until November 12, 2023.

In response to feedback received from customers, a decision was made to reinstate Route 11 Tillicum Centre/UVic to its initial routing, pre-June 2022. This reinstatement will begin on January 8, 2024.

To better understand the priorities and needs of those in the community, BC Transit is seeking feedback on additional service options.

Changes are being considered for the following routes:

  • Route 9 Royal Oak/UVic

  • Route 11 Tillicum Centre/UVic

  • Route 24 Cedar Hill/Tillicum Centre

  • Route 25 Maplewood/Tillicum Centre

BC Transit will also be seeking feedback on a potential new route that would serve the Admirals/Dockyard/UVic areas.

A key goal of this engagement is to determine what is most important to our customers, whether it is local transit coverage or key regional connections. The answers will help BC Transit determine how to plan for the future.

Potential changes from this engagement could be implemented as early as April 2024.

The engagement survey and more information on the potential changes, are available here until November 12, 2023.
