Whistler – BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler will be implementing full winter service and new routes starting Wednesday, December 13.
This seasonal schedule is designed to meet service demand in Whistler during the winter months.
In addition to the standard switch to full winter schedule, the Whistler Transit System will introduce new routes to replace the 1 Valley Connector, the 2 Whistler Creek/Cheakamus and the 3 Rainbow/Emerald. These new routes will run north and south of the Gondola Exchange and provide more frequent service as follows:
-
South of Gondola Transit Exchange: 20/20X Cheakamus, 21 Spring Creek, and 25/25X Whistler Creekside
-
North of Gondola Transit Exchange: 30 Emerald (via Alpine), 31 Alpine, and 32 Emerald
These changes come in response to the recommendation outlined in the route 1 Valley Connector Review Service Discussion Document which was received by Whistler Council on July 18, 2017. The report incorporates previous planning work and feedback received through BC Transit public engagement sessions held in June 2017. The full report can be downloads at:

To help customers to better understand these changes, BC Transit, Whistler Transit Ltd, and Resort Municipality of Whistler staff will be available at the Gondola Transit Exchange and the Village Gate Boulevard bus shelter on December 11, 12 and 13 as well as at the Whistler Inside Scoop trade show at the Conference Centre on December 12 from 2 pm to 6 pm.
