BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) are informing Whistler Transit riders about bus stop closures and transit service disruptions on Saturday, September 7, 2024, as part of the RBC GranFondo. Residents are encouraged to leave the car at home, walk, bike, and take advantage of free transit courtesy of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
To help ensure the safety of the RBC GranFondo participants, several bus stops will be closed in Whistler Village and south of the Village between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Temporary bus stops will be set up at Whistler Creekside and Whistler Village.
Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., all bus stops along Village Gate Boulevard and Northlands Boulevard will be closed and transit customers can catch buses at the Gondola Transit Exchange.
There will be temporary bus stops set up on Chamonix Crescent at Lake Placid Road for all northbound Route 10 and 20 buses opposite the Co-Op Gas Station.
There will also be a temporary bus stop at Highway 99 on the north side of Village Gate Boulevard for Route 10 northbound passengers and as a drop off point for route 20, 21 and 25 passengers. To catch the Route 10 southbound from Whistler Village, please use the stop on Highway 99 at the Whistler Golf Course accessed via the Valley Trail under Highway 99 from Whistler Way behind the Conference Centre.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., all bus stops in Cheakamus Crossing will be closed. Please walk to Function Junction to catch a Route 10 or 20 bus to the Village.
All bus stops in Spring Creek, Whistler Creek, and Nordic will remain closed between 9:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., as well as the Highway 99 stops at Hillcrest, Brio and Panorama Ridge.
From 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. all northbound Highway 99 bus stops between Function Junction and Lorimer Road will be closed. After 1 p.m. these stops will reopen, and passengers will need to cross the event bike lane to board the buses.
Route 10 Valley Express Northbound will be using the temporary stop on Chamonix Crescent to access Whistler Creekside until the regular stop across from the Tim Hortons is reopened after 1pm.

Detours and closures will also effect travelers coming from the Horseshoe Bay BC Ferries terminal and for those coming from Metro Vancouver.
