KITIMAT – Feel free to let BC Transit operators take care of your
driving worries on Canada Day. BC Transit and the District of Kitimat are encouraging
everyone to enjoy a safe and happy holiday by taking a free ride on July
1, 2013 from 10 am until 6 pm.
BC Transit hopes our Kitimat customers take advantage of the free service to
watch the Kitimat Kinsmen Club Canada Day Parade at noon or simply to spend
time with family and friends.
Kitimat Transit will be offering Sunday service levels with a couple of minor
changes. Route #3 Kildala will not travel to the Riverlodge parking lot.
Customers are asked to catch the bus on Columbia Boulevard instead.
Route #1A Whitesail, on the noon run only to accommodate the parade,
will head directly up Lahakas Boulevard (not via Tsimshian/Wakashan.)
Also customers who ride route #2 Nechako will see some changes
on Saturday, June 29, 2013 because of the Fifth Annual Memorial Hill Climb.
Transit runs to Albatross Avenue will be suspended until 8:30 pm. BC Transit
customers in that area are asked catch route #2 on Lahakas, Gyrfalcon
or Kingfisher. *In event of a rain-out on June 29, the Hill Climb will take
place on June 30 or July 1.
