SQUAMISH – Who says there’s no such thing as a free ride? In Squamish,
for the months of July and August, all BC Transit riders 18 years and under
ride free.
The District of Squamish Council hopes to encourage their young residents to
become life-long supporters of public transportation and champions of an environmentally
sustainable future.
Free transit rides will deliver youth to summer jobs, to friends & family,
and will help them develop a strong sense of independence.
This is the fifth summer for the free rides for youth in Squamish. Youth pay
$1.25 for cash fare or $2.75 for a day pass from September to June.
