CAMPBELL RIVER – The City of Campbell River and BC Transit are offering free rides on Friday, February 26, 2016 to parents, guardians and grandparents who are accompanied by a child under the age of six, or expectant mothers, in support of the Children’s Health Fair. Free fares apply from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 26 only.

The Fair will be held at the Robron Centre (740 Robron Road) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Exhibitors at the Fair will provide helpful information needed to raise active and healthy children including safety, literacy, recreational and community programs.

Experts at the Fair will offer free vision, dental, speech and development milestone screening for children.

“Every parent wants their child to succeed and reach their full potential. The Children’s Health Fair is a day of fun and learning for kids and adults alike to support them in reaching that goal. Thanks to The City of Campbell River and BC Transit for assisting in making it easy to attend.” Dr. Charmaine Enns, Island Health Medical Health Officer for the North Island.

The free fare to the Fair is being offered as a way to encourage transit use in Campbell River and to ensure everyone can attend this important community gathering.
