Fall service change in Cowichan Valley includes new names and trip times for commuter routes

BC Transit and the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) are announcing a seasonal service change in the region, effective September 3, 2023.

As part of this service change, existing commuter routes 44, 66, and 99 will be renamed. Routes 44 Victoria/Duncan and 66 Duncan Commuter will be combined to become route 66 CVX Cowichan – Victoria Express, which will now include a stop at Koksilah Road at Highway 1 on Saturdays. Route 99 Shawnigan Lake Commuter will become route 99 SVX Shawnigan Lake – Victoria Express.

A new option on Route 66 CVX is being offered to customers who want to travel to and from Victoria outside of peak commuting hours. One late morning trip (9:23 a.m.) to Victoria and one early afternoon trip (1:45 p.m.) to the Cowichan Valley will replace the existing 5:55 a.m. southbound trip and the existing 4:45 p.m. northbound trip.

To enhance reliability for our customers, there will be some schedule adjustments made to all routes in the Cowichan Valley Transit System, including interregional routes. Please check the new fall schedule here.
