Fall service change for the Regional District of Nanaimo

BC Transit and the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) are advising transit users of a service change, effective September 4, 2022.

This service change will reintroduce trips on routes service K-12 schools and Vancouver Island University on the following routes:

  • 1 Country Club/Downtown

  • 5 Fairview

  • 15 VIU/Woodgrove

  • 20 Hammond Bay/Dover

  • 30 NRGH

  • 40 VIU Express

  • Full service will resume on route 92 Hammond Bay

  • 1 Country Club/Downtown

  • 7 Cinnabar/Cedar

  • 8 Cedar to VIU

  • 30 NRGH

  • 40 VIU Express

  • 88 Parksville

There will also be an adjustment made to route 25 Ferry Shuttle to align with the BC Ferries Departure Bay schedule.

BC Transit’s ridership has recovered to approximately 75 per cent on average across the province. The RDN would like to thank riders for their continued support as we gradually return to pre-pandemic levels.
