BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) are happy to announce a significant increase in service hours to the transit system, starting Monday, April 15, 2024.
The new standard service for spring, summer and fall will improve timing, connections, and the number of buses on all routes between April and November.
This change will also include service into Spring Creek until 1:30 a.m. year-round, earlier and later service on Route 10 Valley Express and the reintroduction of Route 32 Emerald in the morning and afternoon peak times year-round.
This service expansion in the Whistler Transit System has been made possible by an increase in local government and provincial funding. The operating grant provided in the 2024-25 provincial budget will allow BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler to continue to provide safe and reliable service and demonstrates that public transit remains a priority in our communities.
BC Transit is also reminding customers that the last day of this Winter’s Extra Service will be Sunday, April 14, coinciding with the last day of winter operations on Blackcomb Mountain.
To reflect the expected decrease in demand, service will be reduced on the following route:
- Route 5 Upper Village/Benchlands Free Shuttle
Service will be seasonally discontinued on the following routes:
- Route 4 Marketplace Free Shuttle
- Route 25 Whistler Creek
- Route 33 Alpine/Village via Spruce Grove
