December to see holiday schedule reduction to reflect school breaks

NANAIMO – From December 19 through to January 1, the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) Transit system will revert to the summer schedule.

The trips marked ‘s’ in the schedule, will be removed on the following routes:

  • 1 Country Club/Downtown
  • 5 Fairview
  • 15/15A VIU Connector
  • 20/20A Hammond Bay/Dover
  • 30 NRGH
  • 40 VIU Express
  • 92 Hammond Bay

These routes will have reduced service while schools observe a holiday break, or full shutdown.

Holiday Service schedule is as follows:

Holiday Service

December 20-24 – Reduced Weekday* Service
December 25 – Sunday Service
December 26 – Saturday Service
December 27–30 – Reduced Weekday Service
December 31 – Extended Weekday Service until 2:30 a.m. Free Evening Service from 8:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
January 1 & 2- Sunday Service
January 3 – Return to Regular Service

*School specific trips are not in service as school is not in full session
