Transit System: Fort St. John
FORT ST. JOHN – The City of Fort St. John and BC Transit are responding
to community feedback with a number of service changes effective September 3,
2013.
In an effort to increase ridership and customer satisfaction, a series of public
consultation sessions were held in late 2012/early 2013. The findings of those
meetings along with input from municipal staff, the operating company and community
stakeholders, helped shape the immediate future of transit in Fort St. John.
The Route #1 Northside will be rerouted to serve the entrance
of the Northern Lights College. The Route #1 will continue south to the
hospital from 110th Avenue to 100th Avenue.
There are several modifications to Route #3 Central-Prospect Park to
better serve businesses along 108th Street and sections of northwest Fort St.
John. Service on the route will be discontinued between 100th Street and 93rd
Street, along Alaska Road North between 92A and 96A; and on 98th Street between
105th and 100th Avenues. The bus stop directly in front of Chances Gaming Centre
will be replaced with a stop on Alaska Road North at 112th Street.
Route #5 Southwest will be amended to better serve northwest Fort St.
John.
