KAMLOOPS – The City of Kamloops and BC Transit hosted a Customer Appreciation celebration on October 1, 2014. The surprise event was held during the peak morning commute from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Kamloops’ busiest transit exchanges.
Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar and BC Transit President and CEO Manuel Achadinha were personally thanking and offering cookies and safety lights to customers at the Lansdowne Village Exchange.
Kamloops City Councillors Arjun Singh, Tina Lange and Donovan Cavers joined BC Transit Executive Director of Business Development Erinn Pinkerton at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Exchange in support of the city’s largest transit partnership.
At the North Shore Transit Exchange, City Councillors Marg Spina and Pat Wallace met and thanked customers with small gifts of appreciation.
More than three million passenger trips were provided by BC Transit in Kamloops in 2013/14. Plus there are exciting improvements coming to transit in Kamloops in 2015 with the introduction of the new CNG fleet and a substantial expansion of annual service hours. An extra 6,000 annual service hours will improve transit routes around TRU and the North Shore. Planning for these enhancements will take place over the next couple of months, with opportunities for public input online and in-person coming soon.
