Transit System: Prince George
Effective August 1, handyDART operations in the Prince George Transit System will be provided by PG Transit, a subsidiary of PWTransit Canada.
All registered handyDART customers have been informed of this change, which will not impact service. All the information and processes regarding service, scheduling and fares will remain the same. Additionally, the software program that manages trip bookings will relocate to PG Transit, ensuring that all existing subscription and repeater trip schedules will not be affected.
BC Transit would like to thank the Carefree Society for their commitment to providing handyDART service in the Prince George Transit System for more than 50 years. All Carefree Society employees currently working in public transit have been offered comparable roles with PG Transit.
PG Transit was awarded the contract through BC Transit’s standard RFP process. The contract includes conventional and handyDART service in the Prince George Transit System, along with service in the Bulkley Nechako Regional Transit System.
