“I was recently riding Route 23 bus to Lake Country, and the driver warmly greeted everyone boarding the bus with a friendly smile and an upbeat personality. He took the time to say hello to each passenger and wished those getting off a great day. This thoughtful gesture was met with appreciation from all. I observed the reactions of the passengers, and it was evident that his kindness lifted their spirits. I hope this email reaches the driver, so he knows how much his warm demeanor and consideration mean to everyone.” – Krysta, Lake Country

“Recently, a group of classmates and I were taking part in some wheelchair skills training as a part of our Master of Occupational Therapy program. While we were familiarizing ourselves with navigating the UNBC campus in wheelchairs, we ended up at the bus loop where there happened to be a handyDART waiting. The driver graciously offered us a few minutes of his remaining time before leaving to let us try navigating getting on/off the bus via the ramp. None of us are wheelchair users ourselves, so having the opportunity to learn how actual users experience and navigate the world is important, and this driver’s small act of kindness helped just a little bit more.” – Jacqueline, Prince George

“Thanks to the driver on bus 9246 on Lakeshore 1 downtown. This man is so kind and it makes my day when I catch his bus. I hope he stays on this route and time for the next 4 years until I retire 😉– Nicole, Kelowna

“To Mike the handyDART Dispatcher/Driver. Thanks for finding a way so I did not have to wait in the cold and rain for an hour when my appointment was over early. handyDART should give Mike a commendation for treating everyone with such professionalism and kindness.” –Anonymous, Nanaimo News Bulletin Beefs and Bouquets

“This morning a bus passed me on my bike going down Pandosy just before the hospital. This bus driver did an excellent job giving me the new legal space required for cyclists, and I so much appreciate it. Thank you for helping keep cyclists safe!!” – Karen, Kelowna

“Bus driver for #10 (Bus 9253) was kind enough to stop and wait while I walked the 100 m to the bus in front of the Red Robin at Parkwood Mall. Being mobility impaired and rushing from a doctors appointment that ran late this was huge for me. Man is a saint!  Thanks!” – Tony, Prince George

“I’d like to tell you about one of your exceptional drivers. His name is Andy. I’m a 72 year old senior and this man’s kindness goes above and beyond any of the drivers that I’ve had on this route. He always has a smile, an incredibly friendly attitude and a kind word for you. I really wish you had more drivers like him!  He should be your poster child (so to speak) on how a bus driver should be. You should be extremely proud of him! I wish they could all be like him!” – Jo-Ann, Chilliwack

“I’d like to compliment one of your drivers who is so kind, cautious and makes sure we arrive on time. I recently saw him do act of kindness, helping an older man in a wheelchair, that shouldn’t go unnoticed. Please let him know I say thank you!” – Grace, Kelowna
