Celebrate Bike to Work Week and Clean Air Day with free rides in the Prince George Transit System

PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George and BC Transit are pleased to celebrate Bike to Work Week and Clean Air Day by offering participating cyclists free rides.

Customers in Prince George will be able to ride the bus for free on June 2, 2021 for Clean Air Day. Just hop on the bus and enjoy the ride! More information on the Clean Air Day initiative is available here.

In order to ride the Prince George Transit System for free during Bike to Work Week, participants must use the bus bike racks or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus from May 31 to June 6, 2021.

BC Transit buses are equipped with bike racks on the front of the bus, making it easier for cyclists to combine two forms of sustainable transportation when travelling longer distances—or when the weather changes throughout the day and makes cycling less desirable than it was first thing in the morning.

Be advised that bike racks on community buses and smaller fleet buses, such as the route 91, cannot be used after dark, since they obstruct the headlights. To learn more about travelling with your bike on the bus, visit bctransit.com/prince-george/riderinfo/bike-racks-and-lockers.

A reminder that masks are still mandatory on all BC Transit buses.
