Transit System: Campbell River, Comox Valley, Kamloops, Kelowna, Kitimat, Powell River, Salt Spring Island, South Okanagan-Similkameen
Celebrate Canada Day and let BC Transit get you to all the events safely. Shuttles and free transit are being offered in select regions across the province.
Campbell River –
BC Transit and the City of Campbell River will be offering free service on all conventional routes. Special holiday service will be in effect. Please visit

Comox Valley –
BC Transit and the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) are inviting the public to ride for free this Canada Day.
As the 5th Street Bridge will be closed for the parade, there will be two temporary transit exchanges with modified schedules and routes in effect until 5:00 p.m.
Kamloops –
BC Transit and the City of Kamloops will be offering free transit on Canada Day. Free transit includes handyDART service.
Kelowna –
BC Transit and the City of Kelowna are advising customers that this Canada Day there will be additional service on routes 97, 10 and 11 to get people to and from the festivities in downtown Kelowna, including the fireworks. Buses will be running on a Saturday schedule on Canada Day.
Kitimat –
BC Transit and the District of Kitimat will be offering free transit on Canada Day. Buses will be running on Sunday schedule in Kitimat.
There will be no service in Skeena on Canada Day.
Penticton –
BC Transit and the City of Penticton are happy to announce that transit will be free on Canada Day for trips on routes 5 Main Street and 16 Lake to Lake.
In addition, a free shuttle service connecting three major events taking place between Okanagan and Skaha Lake will be operating every half hour between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Powell River –
Sunday service will be in effect on all routes.
BC Transit, the City of Powell River and the qathet Regional District will be offering a special event shuttle on Canada Day. This shuttle will run to and from Town Centre Mall and Alberni at Algoma bus stop, every half hour from 6:15 p.m. until 11:15 p.m.
Salt Spring Island –
BC Transit and the Capital Regional District are advising customers that buses will be running on a Saturday schedule to align with ferry schedules on Canada Day.
