CORPORATE – BC Transit is encouraging current and potential customers to focus on the relationships that are built around public transportation. “Ride Together” a province-wide marketing campaign, will take many forms over the next year. On BC Transit buses and on municipal bus shelters and benches look for images of children, families and friends who will reflect the following themes: Explore Together, Giggle Together, Play Together, Save Together and Share Together.
Not only does the “Ride Together” campaign focus on face-to-face interaction, there’s a social media participation component too.
We’re putting our best foot forward from now until October 12. Participants are encouraged to take Funky Footwear photos –anything from the beloved B.C. socks/sandals combination to stylish shoes or baffling boots. Upload your pictures on Instagram. Two other Instagram contests will follow: Dazzling Destinations from October 13 to November 9; and Snappy Signs from November 10 to November 30. For all three contests, be sure to include the following hashtag information: #ridetogetherbc and tag your entry so we know which region it’s coming from. Winners are chosen from the most popular submissions, as determined by the number of “likes” on Instagram. Hit the Instagram heart icon for your own entry or in support of another participant. Prizes including mini i-Pads will be awarded.
“Some of my favourite trips on BC Transit have been with my children who remind me how exciting our buses can be and how engaging public transportation should be,” said BC Transit President and CEO Manuel Achadinha. “We hope our new ‘Ride Together’ campaign encourages our customers to explore together and make many wonderful memories through their BC Transit experiences.”
