With the holidays fast approaching, BC Transit is participating in a number of events over the coming weeks to help get people into the spirit of the season.
Santa Light Parade – Keep an eye out for a decorated BC Transit bus taking part in the 39th Peninsula Co-op Santa Light Parade through downtown Victoria on Saturday, November 27. Event details available here.
Stuff The Bus – People are invited to help fill a BC Transit bus with cash, new toys, new clothing and non-perishable food items. All donations will go to The Mustard Seed Food Bank and The Salvation Army. Come by and drop off your donations at the Tillicum Centre Save-on-Foods on Saturday, December 4 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Truck Parade – BC Transit will once again be participating in the annual Island Equipment Operators Association Truck Light Convoy and Food Drive on the night of Saturday, December 4. More information on the route and where you can donate is available here.
Santa Bus – Be on the lookout for the red-nosed Santa Bus in the Victoria Regional Transit System from December 10 and 11. Santa will be behind the wheel and his helpers will be handing out candy canes and free rides to everyone who hops onboard. The Santa Bus will operate on a number of routes over the two days, and the full schedule is available here.
BC Transit reminds customers that all events will follow COVID-19 safety protocols. Face coverings are mandatory on all BC Transit buses, and additional safety measures are being taken for the Stuff the Bus event.
This year has been challenging for so many British Columbians. While BC Transit wanted to highlight upcoming holiday events, the organization’s thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by the devastating flooding throughout the province. BC Transit will continue to support our communities with emergency assistance while maintaining reliable service for our customers.
