BC Transit experiencing service challenges in Whistler this winter

BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler work hard to match service with demand and provide reliable transportation services for customers.

Due to an ongoing labour shortage, the Whistler Transit system is currently experiencing service challenges. The current impacts to service are resulting in the need to sometimes alter schedules and cancel trips on short notice in the Whistler Transit System. While the operating company is working hard to maintain a balanced schedule during this time, weekend service will continue to see more impacts.

Once a trip cancellation has been confirmed, alerts are issued on BC Transit’s website. Riders are encouraged to use NextRide, Transit App for mobile, and to check for alerts regularly at bctransit.com for the most up-to-date information. Riders may also sign up here to receive route-specific alerts that will be emailed to them directly.

BC Transit apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause and continues to appreciate the patience of customers during this time.

BC Transit’s operating company, PW Transit, is actively recruiting transit operators and is working hard to hire more drivers to improve service reliability.
