Victoria – Starting Monday, July 2, regular seasonal service changes will take effect in the Victoria Regional Transit System, providing expanded service to popular summer destinations for residents and visitors.
Bus riders wishing to enjoy Thetis Lake or Butchart Gardens, or wanting to catch a ferry at Swartz Bay will find it easier to get to their destinations thanks to the following seasonal changes:
-
Expanded weekday and weekend service on route 53 Langford Exchange/Colwood Exchange (serving Thetis Lake)
-
Additional weekend service on route 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown
-
Improved weekend service on routes 75 Royal Oak/Downtown/Saanichton and 81 Swartz Bay/Butchart Gardens
In addition to these changes, routes serving schools and post-secondary institutions will undergo their usual seasonal schedule adjustments in response to lower ridership levels typical of the summer. Seasonal changes will include the cancellation of routes 16 Uptown/UVic and 17 Cedar Hill. Regular service will resume in the fall.
