In alignment with the Evacuation Order issued today by the City of Merritt, and to support community evacuation efforts, all transit service in the Merritt Regional Transit System has been cancelled until further notice.
BC Transit’s thoughts are with the entire community of Merritt as they face this difficult time. Out of an abundance of safety for customers and employees of BC Transit’s operating company, all transit service has been postponed until it is safe to resume.
BC Transit buses are being utilized to assist in the evacuation of residents that do not have access to transportation, specifically at care facilities in the community. The organization will continue to communicate with the City of Merritt and to provide support in any way possible.
Service will resume when it is safe to do so, and customers will be updated accordingly.
