VICTORIA – The Victoria Regional Transit Commission is asking for the public’s input on their fare structure review.
Fare structure reviews are done every three years in the Victoria Regional Transit System and during this review period, the Commission is conducting an online survey and hosting an open house to ensure they hear from as many of their customers as possible.
The survey, which can be found here, includes three fare structure options, approved by the Commission for review, as well as a number of questions that will help refine the new fare structure based on the feedback received from the public. The survey, and review of background information, is expected to take between five to 15 minutes.
The Victoria Regional Transit System is funded through revenue from fares, local property taxes, grants from the Provincial Government, and fuel taxes. The commission wants to ensure fares and funding will continue to support the provision of an efficient and effective transit system for the Victoria region.
Customers are invited to fill out the online survey throughout October and early November. Feedback can also be submitted by phone, email or by writing the Victoria Regional Transit Commission. Members of the public are also invited to an open house at BC Transit’s office at 520 Gorge Road East on Thursday, November 5, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
There are several ways to provide your input to the Victoria Regional Transit Commission before the November 5th deadline. Those include:
