BC Transit, the City of Vernon, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) and District of Coldstream are advising customers of a fare change, effective October 1, 2026.
Vernon Transit Fare Update – October 1, 2026
Starting October 1, 2026, BC Transit and the City of Vernon, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) and District of Coldstream are updating fares for Vernon local transit services (Routes 1 – 9, 60 and 61). This fare change also includes handyDART fares.
- Single ride (including handyDART): $3.00
- 30-Day Adult Pass: $65
- 30-Day Concession Pass: $55
- Student Semester Pass: $165
- DayPASS: $6.00 (unchanged)
Introducing fare capping
Paper transfers are being replaced by automatic fare capping through the DayPASS. If you pay by Umo stored value or contactless payment, you’ll automatically receive a DayPASS after paying two single fares in a day. Cash customers can purchase a DayPASS onboard. Either way, once you’ve hit the DayPASS price, you ride free for the rest of the day.
New: Choose the pass that works for you
We now offer two monthly pass options so you can pick what fits your travel needs.
- If you ride locally within Vernon, the RDNO and Coldstream, the 30-Day Adult Pass ($65) and 30-Day Concession Pass ($55) cover all Vernon Local Routes at the best price.
- If you also travel between Vernon and Kelowna, the new 30-Day Regional Adult Pass ($80) and 30-Day Regional Concession Pass ($65) give you unlimited travel across all Vernon Local Routes and Route 90 UBCO/Vernon — all on a single pass. (Note: single rides on Route 90 are $6.00)

Free transit for youth
