BC Transit, the City of Powell River and the qathet Regional District are advising customers of service changes, effective September 8, 2026.
With the start of the fall semester, school trips on Route 1 Townsite/Grief Point, Route 2 Wildwood Express and Route 9 Brooks School will resume.
Route 14 Lund will go back to off-peak service, operating on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
As part of this service change, there will be improved service on Route 1 Townsite/Grief Point to meet hospital shift changes. Monday through Saturdays Route 1 will have a new northbound trip passing by the hospital around 6:47 a.m. Monday through Friday there will be a southbound trip passing by the hospital by around 7:10 p.m. The first weekend trip on Route 2 Wildwood Express will move slightly earlier to allow for better connections.
BC Transit also reminds customers that the service area for Powell River OnDemand transit service now includes Mowat Bay and Cranberry Lake.
