BC Transit values its operators and maintenance employees who keep transit service reliable in the Victoria region. Despite making every reasonable effort to reach a resolution, BC Transit has been advised that Unifor 333 has issued 72-hour strike notice and is expected to commence job action on August 17, beginning with a refusal to wear uniforms. Further job action could involve a refusal to work or other coordinated action affecting transit service in the Victoria Regional Transit System. This labour dispute involves conventional transit operations only and does not affect handyDART service.
