Erinn Pinkerton
President and Chief Executive Officer
Erinn Pinkerton is a senior public-sector executive with more than two decades of experience leading complex transportation organizations. She is recognized for strategic leadership, strong governance and a commitment to delivering public value through effective organizational performance.
As President and Chief Executive Officer of BC Transit, Erinn leads the delivery of public transit services to communities across British Columbia. She oversees province-wide initiatives focused on modernization, innovation and sustainable transportation, working with government, partners and communities to support safe, accessible, reliable and responsive service.
Since joining BC Transit in 2008, Erinn has held progressively senior roles, including Vice President of Business Development and Chief Transformation Officer. She has led corporate planning, transit planning and scheduling, information technology and communications, while advancing organizational strategy, transformation and service improvements.
As CEO, Erinn guides BC Transit’s modernization priorities to improve the customer experience, advance digital innovation and support the transition to a zero-emission fleet.
Erinn serves as Chair of the Board of Governors at the University of Victoria. She was named one of Business in Vancouver’s Influential Women in Business in 2021 and received the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce’s Award of Distinction in 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master of Business Administration and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Jim Ross
Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer
As Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer, Jim Ross oversees BC Transit’s operational services and the delivery of safe, reliable and efficient transit service across the province. His leadership advances service excellence, operational innovation and sustainable transportation solutions.
Jim has more than 27 years of experience in transit operations. He joined BC Transit in 2024 from ONxpress Transportation Operations, where he served as Head of Service Delivery. Previously, he spent 24 years with the Toronto Transit Commission, beginning as a Train Operator and advancing through increasingly senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer overseeing one of North America’s largest transit systems.
His collaborative leadership and deep operational expertise help advance safe, reliable transit service for customers and communities across B.C.
Kathy Humphrey
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
As Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Kathy Humphrey guides BC Transit’s financial strategy and stewardship, overseeing corporate and capital accounting, financial planning and analysis, procurement and enterprise risk management. Her work supports sound governance, long-term financial sustainability and informed decision-making across the organization. Kathy’s leadership experience spans more than 20 years across finance, operations and strategic planning. Before joining BC Transit, she held senior roles with the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, the City of Kamloops and Thompson Rivers University, bringing a strong public-sector perspective to organizational leadership, financial management and operational planning.
Kathy serves on the Board of Governors at Camosun College. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University.
Aaron Lamb
Vice President, Asset Management and Chief Sustainability Officer
As Vice President, Asset Management and Chief Sustainability Officer, Aaron Lamb is responsible for BC Transit’s provincial fleet, infrastructure assets, environmental management programs and real estate portfolio. His work is grounded in disciplined, principled asset management practices that support sustainable growth, long-term asset resilience and a passion to embrace and implement new technologies.
Aaron has more than 25 years of experience with BC Transit, beginning his career as a fleet engineer and advancing through senior roles in project management, engineering, maintenance services, capital asset management, enterprise resource planning and program development. Since joining the senior leadership team in 2012, he has played a key role in shaping BC Transit’s fleet and infrastructure strategies.
Aaron holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Victoria and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Executive Management from Royal Roads University.
Christy Harrold
Vice President, Strategy, Planning and Public Affairs
As Vice President, Strategy and Public Affairs, Christy Harrold supports the delivery of BC Transit’s Strategic Plan through corporate strategy, planning and scheduling, marketing, sales and revenue, communications and government relations. Her work helps align organizational priorities, strengthen public trust and build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and the public.
Christy has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate leadership and project implementation. She joined BC Transit in 2008 and moved through senior roles, including Manager of Capital Programs and Director of Corporate and Strategic Planning, before being appointed Vice President in 2018. Earlier in her career, she worked with BC Buildings Corporation and BC Ferries, contributing to complex public-sector infrastructure and transportation initiatives.
Christy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Victoria.
Melissa Zimmerman
Vice President, People and Culture
As Vice President, People and Culture, Melissa Zimmerman leads BC Transit’s people strategy and organizational culture work. She partners with teams across the organization to support employees and leaders, advance the People and Culture Plan, and strengthen an engaged, high-performing workplace.
Melissa has more than 20 years of leadership experience in human resources and organizational development. She joined BC Transit in 2017 as a Senior HR Business Consultant and later served as Director of Human Resources before becoming Vice President in 2022. Before joining BC Transit, she held leadership roles with the Ralmax Group of Companies, where she led talent and culture strategies in a complex multi-union, multi-company environment. She is known for building high-performing teams and advancing strategic people initiatives.
Robert Sano
Vice President, IT and Chief Information Officer
As Vice President, IT and Chief Information Officer, Robert Sano directs BC Transit’s information technology strategy and digital transformation efforts. His portfolio includes digital modernization, cybersecurity, smart bus technologies and technology solutions that strengthen operations, improve service reliability and support the customer experience.
Robert has more than 25 years of technology leadership experience across multiple industries. Prior to joining BC Transit, he held senior leadership positions with TELUS Communications, Canadian Tire Corporation, The Forzani Group Ltd. and the YWCA. His background spans digital transformation, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, data analytics, risk management and technology-enabled business improvement.
