The BC Bus Pass Program, offered by the provincial government, provides low-cost annual bus passes for low-income seniors and people receiving disability assistance. The pass offers unlimited access to any scheduled BC Transit bus service across the province.
Who Can Apply
To qualify, you must live in a community served by BC Transit and meet one of the following requirements.
Low-Income Seniors
You may be eligible if you are:
- 60 years or older and the spouse of a person with the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) designation, and receiving disability assistance from the Province of BC
- 60 years or older and receiving income assistance from the Province of BC
- 60 years or older, living on a First Nations reserve, and receiving assistance from your band office
- 65 years or older and would qualify for the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) but do not meet the Canadian 10-year residency rule
- Receiving Old Age Security (OAS) and the GIS
- Receiving the federal Allowance or Allowance for the Survivor
Persons Receiving Disability Assistance
If you receive disability assistance, you’ll get an additional $52 each month as a transportation supplement. You can use this supplement for an annual bus pass or other transportation needs.
