How Fares Work

In this section, you will discover how to use cash fare and passes, transfers, and how to become a vendor.

Cash Fare

A Cash Fare allows one person to use transit. Please have the correct fare ready before you enter the bus.

Cash Balance

Cash Balance is a fare product for riders using a Umo payment method. A rider’s Umo app or Umo card can be loaded with a set dollar amount to be drawn from at the Single Ride value as additional trips are taken. A Cash Balance can be purchased in the Umo app, at a Umo...

DayPASS

A DayPASS offers a discount for unlimited travel throughout the day.

10 Rides

Packages of 10-Rides are available as physical paper or a digital fare product via Umo.

30 Day Pass

A 30-Day Pass provides riders with a Umo payment method the convenience of having an unlimited long-term fare product but introduces the flexibility of not having to wait until the start of a calendar month to use it.

Monthly Passes

For frequent transit users, Monthly, 6 Month and 12 Month Passes will offer a significant savings over paying cash fares.

BC Bus Pass

The BC Bus Pass Program offers a reduced cost, annual bus pass for low income seniors and individuals receiving disability assistance from the Province of British Columbia.

Meet Umo, the new way to pay your BC Transit fare.

Umo allows you to select the best payment method for your lifestyle and travel habits. Learn more about Umo.
