Your mobility aid must not exceed 2 feet by 4 feet (24” by 48” or 60.96 cm by 121.92 cm; download the Mobility Aid Guide for You can bring your mobility aid on the bus if it does not exceed 2 feet by 4 feet (24 by 48 inches or 61 by 122 centimetres). If your device is larger, please contact your local transit office for an assessment.
To travel with a mobility aid, you need to be able to:
- Board the ramp or lift by yourself or with help from an attendant.
- Keep your device from rolling back on the ramp.
- Move on and off the bus safely.
- Move into the securement area with or without an attendant’s help.

Types of Mobility Aids
Mobility aids that may be used on low-floor buses include:
- Power devices: scooters and some wheelchairs
- Manual devices: some wheelchairs, pediatric strollers, walkers, canes, and crutches
Not all devices fit on board or can be secured, so space and securement options may limit what can travel on the bus.
Getting On the Bus with a Mobility Aid
Your driver can:
- Lower the ramp or kneel the bus when you board or exit
- Help in an emergency
- Give you extra time to move safely
- Secure your wheelchair or scooter
Travelling On the Bus with a Mobility Aid
When using a mobility aid on board, please:
- Remove flags and store bags so they do not block securement points
- Avoid overloading your device with parcels
- Ask your driver if you need help paying your fare
- Tell your driver where you are going
- Move into the wheelchair area and let the driver secure your aid
- Let the driver know if you have an attendant with you
- Board and exit the bus facing forward
