Transit Future in Creston Valley

What is Transit Future?

Transit Future is about helping you shape the future of transit in your community. With your input, these plans show how your transit system can grow over time. Planners look at changes in ridership, local priorities, population growth, and other community needs to guide each plan. Every community is different, so each plan may look a little different too.

You can learn more about the types of Transit Future Plans here. When you take part in this work, you help improve transit service for yourself and your community.

Why do we need Transit Future?

Good planning helps your community stay connected and prepared for the future. Factors like climate change, rising living costs, population growth, traffic congestion, and an aging population all play a role in how transit should grow. Planning helps your community:

  • Offer more transportation choices
  • Support land use plans that make it easier to walk, cycle, and use transit
  • Reduce the economic, environmental, and social costs of traffic and road expansion
  • Meet climate goals
