Bus Etiquette

Help make every trip pleasant for you and others. Be courteous and respectful of your driver and fellow riders.

Here are a few simple ways to make your ride smoother:

  • Give your seat to someone who needs it. Courtesy seating at the front of the bus is especially important for riders who:
    • Use scooters, wheelchairs, strollers, or other mobility aids
    • Have a disability or mobility challenge
    • Are travelling with a baby stroller
  • Keep doorways clear so people can get on and off safely. Stand behind the red or yellow lines.
  • When the bus is busy, move to the back to make room for others.
  • Seats are for people, not bags or feet. Hold your bag on your lap or place it on the floor where it won’t block the aisle.
  • Take your garbage with you when you leave.
  • Watch your belongings as you move through the bus so you don’t bump other riders.
  • If you’re listening to music, use headphones and keep the volume low so others can’t hear it.
  • Keep your phone and in-person conversations quiet so you don’t disturb other riders.
