Fare and fare product changes coming to Whistler on October 1
Transit System: Whistler
2 September 2025
BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) are advising riders of price changes to transit fares and changes to some fare products effective October 1, 2025.
Following a fare review process that included consultation between BC Transit and the RMOW, the fare collected for a single ride is increasing to $2.75 for all riders, including seniors. The price for the 30-Day Pass will adjust to $55 and become one universal price for all riders including seniors and students. It will remain available for purchase through Umo. The 6-Month and 12-Month Passes both remain the same and are available at Whistler Municipal Hall only.
DayPASS prices will decrease to $5.50 for all riders and will shift to a new DayPASS policy after payment of the second fare. This new policy removes the 90-minute time restricted digital and paper transfers and instead allows passengers unlimited travel during the day at the price of two single fares. DayPASS is available for purchase aboard the bus with cash or automatically applied to a Umo app or Umo card after the second Single Ride fare payment of the day. A new Multi-Rider DayPASS will be introduced for $17.50 that will allow groups of up to four passengers to pay with a single fare product through Umo.
Also effective October 1, the 10-Rides Adult and Senior/Student fare products will be discontinued and no longer available for purchase through Umo. Customers currently using these products can transition to using Umo Cash Balance to pay their Single Ride fares. The Adult and Senior/Student 30-Day Passes are now available as a universal 30-Day Pass for all riders. Any unused legacy pass products remaining in customer accounts will remain valid until used or expired.

Cash and the Province of British Columbia’s BC Bus Pass will continue to be accepted. Legacy products that are already purchased such as paper tickets, Umo 10-Ride, and Umo Single Ride fare products will continue to be accepted until used up.
Riders who have not yet transitioned to a Umo payment method and fare product are encouraged to visit bctransit.com/umo for a comprehensive introduction to adopting Umo, including video tutorials on using the Umo Mobility App and reloadable Umo card. Fare products can be loaded in the Umo app, to a reloadable Umo card online at ca.umopass.com, at a BC Transit Umo retail vendor location, or through Umo customer service, toll-free at 877-380-8181 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The cost of operating transit has increased, as has the demand for service with an ever-growing population. This fare increase will support the ability of BC Transit and the RMOW to improve and expand on service in the region in the coming years. All decisions around fares and service levels in the Whistler Transit System are determined by the RMOW.
