New Year’s Eve service on BC Transit across the province

BC Transit and its government partners will be offering special service for New Year’s Eve in regions across the province, on December 31, 2025.  

Central Fraser Valley – There will be extended regular service on New Year’s Eve until 3 a.m. Buses will be free after 6 p.m. To view the full schedule, click here.  

Kamloops – Regular weekday service on New Year’s Eve with extended late-night service. Buses will be free starting at 6 p.m.  

Kitimat – Buses will be free after 7 p.m and there will be extended late-night service until 5 a.m. on routes 1, 2 and 3. To view the full schedule, click here.  

Nanaimo – Service will be extended, with free service starting at 6 p.m.  

Penticton – Ring in the New Year with extended service on New Year’s Eve. Starting at 7 p.m., all transit services will be free, with a special shuttle operating for the evening. Port Alberni – There will be extended late-night service offered on New Year’s Eve with free service after 7:30 p.m. The schedule is available here.  

Prince George – Service will be free, starting at 7 p.m. There will be extended service until 3 a.m. for routes 1, 10, 15,16, 46, 88, 89, and 91. The full schedule is available here.  

Prince Rupert – Free service will be available from 5 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. For the full schedule, click here.  

Revelstoke – Route 5 Resort Shuttle will provide late-night service and will be free from 6 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. 

Smithers – There will be extended late night service until 2 a.m. on routes 22 and 23. Buses will be free starting at 8 p.m. For the full schedule, click here

Squamish – There will be extended weekday service on New Year’s Eve. The buses will be free after 8 p.m. For the full schedule, click here

Sunshine Coast – Regular weekday service will be in effect for New Year’s Eve. Service will be free after 7 p.m. 

Victoria – Regular weekday schedule with extended late night service provided in the Victoria Region. Service will be free on both conventional and handyDART service after 6 p.m. Service will run on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, January 1, 2026. For the full schedule, click here

Whistler – Free transit will be available all-day, compliments of the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Regular weekday schedule will be in effect for New Year’s Eve.
