BC Transit will launch a redesigned website in the next few weeks to make it easier for riders to plan trips and find the transit information they need.

– High school graduation should be the time of their lives. BC Transit
wants to help students celebrate their accomplishments while promoting a safer,
more sustainable way to travel.
More than 16, 000 graduates from 18 BC communities will receive a GradPASS
– a special pass that allows students to enjoy two days of free, unlimited
travel in the month of June and within their own local transit system.
“BC Transit sends best wishes to all graduates,” said BC President
& CEO Manuel Achadinha. “Our young riders will shape the future of
both public transportation and their communities as a whole. BC Transit hopes
GradPASS helps reinforce our safe and convenient solution to local transportation.”
GradPASS was developed in Vancouver in 1988 through the efforts of the Counterattack
program, BC Transit and local school boards. The program has been available
in Victoria since 1990. Other participating communities in 2012 include Abbotsford,
Campbell River, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Penticton, Powell River,
Prince George, Prince Rupert, Salt Spring Island, Sechelt, Squamish, Trail,
Vernon and Whistler.
GradPASS is user-friendly – students simply scratch off their chosen two
days and show the bus to the driver. GradPASS is non-transferable.
