Victoria Regional Transit Commission (VRTC)

The Victoria Regional Transit service is funded through four main sources: provincial contributions, local government contributions, fuel tax and passenger fares. Transit service levels and budgets are approved each year by the Commission, who also set fares and local transit property taxes. Maintenance of local transit infrastructure (e.g. bus stops, shelters and benches) is provided by the local municipality.

Many of the decisions regarding transit services and funding in the Victoria region are made by the Victoria Regional Transit Commission. Visit the VRTC section for meeting agendas and other information.
