You must first register with handyDART to access these options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">handyLINE: Touch-tone Phone Booking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With handyLINE, you have 24 hour a day access to handyDART booking services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enroll, call <a href=\"tel:+12507277811\">250-727-7811<\/a> and press 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A customer service agent will give you a client identification number and a PIN number to access the system. The agent will help you identify up to eight of your most regular handyDART destinations. You will need to provide the name, address and phone number (if applicable) for each location. Once your destinations are in handyLINE, you can easily book trips to these locations yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of Trips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Reservation trips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Reservation trips are one-time or occasional trips. Trips are booked on a first-to-call basis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can book a reservation trip up to 14 days before your travel date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Subscription Trips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Subscription trips are repeating trips to the same place on the same day and time. These trips are set up for an ongoing need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, you may book a weekly physical therapy appointment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subscription trips are limited. Contact&nbsp;handyDART&nbsp;to check availability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subscription trips do not run on holidays. If holiday service is available in your area and you need to keep your trip, contact&nbsp;handyDART&nbsp;before the holiday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Booking Check List<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Have this information ready when you book:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your name&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The day, date, and time you need to travel&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether you have an attendant, companion, or&nbsp;assistance&nbsp;animal&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your pick-up address, including street name and number&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your drop-off address, including street name, number, and phone number if available&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your appointment time&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any special instructions, such as using a side door&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The type of mobility aid you use, such as a wheelchair or walker&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">When your ride arrives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you book,&nbsp;you\u2019ll&nbsp;get a&nbsp;20 to 30 minute&nbsp;pick-up window.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be ready at your pick-up location at the start of that window.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong>&nbsp;If your pick-up window is from 9 to 9:30 a.m., be ready at 9 a.m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes your trip may be provided by a taxi instead of a&nbsp;handyDART&nbsp;vehicle.&nbsp;You\u2019ll&nbsp;still pay the regular&nbsp;handyDART&nbsp;fare. You do not pay the meter or tip the driver.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Your responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When using&nbsp;handyDART,&nbsp;you\u2019re&nbsp;expected to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ask the driver for the help you need, such as&nbsp;assistance&nbsp;walking or pushing your wheelchair&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be at your pick-up location at the start of your pick-up window&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carry your own parcels, with a maximum of two carried on your lap&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cancel trips at least two hours before your pick-up time&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Cancelling a Trip<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>handyDART\u00a0service is limited and in high demand. If you need to cancel a trip, call the\u00a0handyDART\u00a0office at <a href=\"tel:1-250-479-0004\">250-479-0004<\/a> as soon as you can.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cancelling early helps make service available for other riders.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\tThis section outlines how to book a trip with handyDART.
