Whistler Transit System service review
In Fall 2010, during the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s
2011 budget process, it became clear that there was a growing
gap in funding needed to maintain the current transit system
into the future. Council instructed staff to work with BC
Transit to review the finances and service structure of the
Whistler Transit system to identify a system that all partners
could financially sustain.
In addition to public feedback, detailed ridership information
was gathered from mid-December 2010 through mid-February 2011
to help determine these approved changes starting this winter
season.

Use Google Transit
starting November 24 to plan your trip

but travels through the Village along Northlands Boulevard
northbound and Lorimer/Blackcomb Way/Village Gate Boulevard
southbound
- If youre heading north to Alpine, Rainbow, or
Emerald, the best place to catch the bus in the Village
is at the IGA bus shelter
- If youre going south to Blueberry, Alta Vista,
Nordic, Whistler Creek, Tamarisk, Bayshores, Spring
Creek, Function or Cheakamus, catch the bus at the Village
Gate bus shelter

Gondola between the Village and Base II for free as
long as they are wearing street clothes (no skis or
snowboards allowed unless you have a valid ticket)
- People coming from the north who want to end their trip
at Gondola Transit Exchange, can catch the 3 Rainbow/Emerald
at Alpine, Meadow Park Sports Centre or the Nic North bus
stops while residents from the Nesters area can transfer
from the 1 Valley Connector at the bus stops on Lorimer
Road or the Olympic Plaza/Millennium Place bus stop onto
the 3 Rainbow/Emerald bus, the 5 Marketplace Shuttle or
the 6 Tapleys Connector bus.
- People from the south can get to Gondola Transit Exchange
by catching the 2 Creekside/Cheakamus at Whistler Creek
or transferring onto the 5 Marketplace Shuttle either at
the Pinnacle or the IGA bus stop
