Consultants Start Work on Busway Planning
BC Transit has retained a multi-disciplinary team headed
by IBI Group to undertake the planning of the busway and
development of design specifications.
The work program, which has recently begun, involves a wide
range of analyses and investigations. An advisory committee
has also been formed to advise the design group, as plans
progress.
Public open houses and small meetings with groups of adjacent
businesses will be held during the life of the project.
This design phase is anticipated to take 6 to 8 months,
and will lead to a major decision point for corridor municipalities,
the Ministry of Transportation, and the Transit Commission
regarding construction.
