Taxation Area Map

A Transit Service Area is the legal description of the area authorized by the BC Transit Act and its regulations, in which a public transit service can operate, and where a property tax, fuel tax, or other authorized levy may be administered by a Municipality or Regional Transit Commission to cover its share of the cost.

In the Victoria region, public transit service is provided to the incorporated municipalities in the Capital Regional District, and associated rural areas by the Victoria Regional Transit Commission. The Transit Service Area in the Victoria region encompasses all incorporated areas of the Capital Regional District and unincorporated areas of the Capital Regional District that are part of the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area excluding the Malahat and Renfrew Land Districts.
