What is the Taxi Saver Program?

The Taxi Saver Program provides greater convenience for one-time trips when handyDART cannot accommodate your travel needs. You will need to have a handyPASS to use this program.

How do I get a handyPASS?

handyPASS is a picture identification that allows you to purchase TaxiSaver coupons. The pass also allows your attendant to travel free on the regular bus. handyPASS is available only to permanent handyDART users in the Victoria region. You have to be 12 years old or over to use this program.

If you need a handyPASS, complete the handyPASS portion when you complete your handyDART application. Be sure to include two passport size photos. Check the Yellow Pages of your telephone directory under Passport Photos.

What is a Taxi Saver Coupon?

The Taxi Saver Program provides a 50% subsidy towards the cost of taxi rides. Coupons are sold in sheets containing $1, $2 and $5 taxi saver coupons.

One hole is for $1, two holes in line are for $2 and two holes separated at each end of the coupon are for $5. You pay $40 for each sheet and may buy a sheet every month. Coupons do not have an expiry date.

What if I Have a Complaint About my Taxi Ride?

If you have a problem while using your Taxi Saver coupons, please contact the manager of the taxi company. If your concern is not resolved by the taxi company, contact BC Transit at 385-2551.
