Your application is usually processed within ten days of receiving it. That includes assessing your disability information against set eligibility guidelines. In the case where handyDART needs to speak with your doctor, the process will take a little longer.
The handyDART office will call after ten days to let you or your caregiver know if your registration was successful, or if your application was denied.
If you are unsure if you are eligible for handyDART service, read the Eligibility Guidelines [PDF 1.8MB].
Registering for handyPASS
If you are applying for a handyPASS identification card, submit two passport size photographs with your handyDART application. You must send this by mail or take it to the handyDART office.
A handyPASS is a picture identification card. When you use the regular bus, pay your fare and show your handyPASS, your attendant can travel free. When you use Taxi Saver Coupons, you must show your handyPASS to the taxi driver.
