The Victoria Regional Transit System serves Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula, the western communities and Sooke.
Two types of accessible transit service are offered in Victoria: door-to-door handyDART service and fixed route service. Fixed route service includes both low floor and lift-equipped community buses on fixed routes and schedules.
These pages are to help customers, caregivers and family members become familiar with accessible transit services, offer travelling tips, safety information and answers to frequently asked questions.
November 8, 2012 - Call for Interest: Access Transportation Advisory Committee
The Victoria Regional Transit Commission invites residents to serve on the Access Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC). ATAC provides advice to the Commission and BC Transit regarding accessible transportation and custom transit issues. The Committee meets up to four times per year.
The Commission will consider applications from seniors or caregivers, individuals with disabilities, and persons representing organizations that provide services or represents persons with disabilities.
Appointments to ATAC are for two years. The application should focus on skills and experience that you can bring to ATAC including any experience with transit services.
Deadline December 14, 2012.
