Terrace Regional handyDART

handyDART is a transportation service for persons who have a disability that is sufficiently severe that the person is physically unable to use conventional transit service without assistance. handyDART service is provided to and from accessible building entrances.

Registration

You must be registered with the handyDART office before you can use the service. (There is no registration fee.) To register, call 635-2666 on Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and noon and between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. The handyDART staff will ask your name, mailing address and telephone number, then send you an application package. Please complete the application and return it to the office.

Booking a Trip

To book a trip, call 635-2666 on Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and noon, and between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. A telephone answering service will provide recorded information on Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

There are two types of service:

• Regular subscription trips once a week or more often.
• One-time trips for purposes such as shopping, social visits or recreational activities.

Cancelling a Trip

If your plans change, and you no longer need your handyDART reservation, please call handyDART as soon as possible so that we can schedule a trip for someone else.

When the Bus Arrives

Trip schedules are constantly changing as new reservations and cancellations are received. Expect your bus to arrive 15 minutes before or after your scheduled time, and please be ready to go when it arrives.

It is not necessary to wait outside, but if you are being picked up at an apartment complex or commercial building, please wait in the lobby.

Carry-on Baggage

Due to space limitations, you may only bring what you can carry on board with you.

handyDART service operates Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:45 a.m. and 3:40 p.m.

In Terrace, this service is operated by Coastal Bus Lines Ltd.
