handyDART is a transportation service for persons who have a disability that is sufficiently severe that the person is unable to use conventional transit service without assistance. handyDART service is provided to and from accessible building entrances.

handyDART Service

There are two types of handyDART service:

• One-time trips: please call at least 24 hours ahead for your reservation.
• Regular subscription trips. If you want to set up a regular trip, you need only call once to set it up, and the bus will be there to pick you up on a regular basis.

Booking a Trip

You may book your trip by calling 1-877-843-2877. If the dispatcher is not available, please leave a message with your booking request and telephone number.

In the Kaslo area (Routes 6 & 7), call 1-877-843-2877, ext. 4.
In the Nakusp area (Local Nakusp service & Routes 1, 2, 3 & 4), call 1-877-843-2877, ext. 5 or 265-3674, ext. 201.
In the Nelson area (Local Nelson service & Routes 10, 11, 12 & 13. Includes service to Ymir/Salmo, Shoreacres/Krestova, Slocan Valley & Six Mile), call 1-877-843-2877, ext. 1.

Cancelling a Trip

If your plans change, and you no longer need your reserved seat, please call 1-877-843-2877 as soon as possible so that the dispatcher can schedule a trip for someone else.

Nakusp:
Monday 8:15am - noon, 1:00pm - 5:00pm;
Wednesday 10:10am - 11:00am, 11:40am - noon, 1:00pm - 2:00pm, 4:45pm - 5:00pm;
Friday 10:40am - noon, 1:00pm - 2:05pm

Nelson:
Monday, 8:00am - 4:00pm;
Tuesday, 10:15am - 1:45pm;
Wednesday, 10:00am - 1:40pm; 2nd & 4th Thursday, 8:00am - 4:00pm;
Friday, 10:00am - 1:20pm.
